Thanksgiving with the Astin's

We went to the traditional Saturday thanksgiving with Daniel's family. They hold it in the church because there is so many people, it is one of the only places we can all fit. The food was tasty and it was fun getting together with family. Jacob loved playing with the basketball and running around the gym.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Here are some cute pictures of Jacob we took yesterday! I hope all of you had a great thanksgiving! I will blog later about our thanksgiving festivities, but I just want to say that I am thankful for such a great family and great friends! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

BYU Game

We went over to my in-laws house to watch the BYU vs. Utah football game. In case you missed it, the game was not the greatest if you where a BYU fan. A little before half time it was tied and I thought there was hope. By the third quarter I wanted to throw something at Hall. That way he would know I wasn't happy. At the end of the game Hall had made so many errors that I actually felt bad for the guy. But despite a disappointing game for the cougars, it was still fun. I taught Jacob how to say touch down (which sounds like an excited "ta da!") and have him give the touchdown signal. He was so cute, when we would score and the guys got all excited, Jacob would join in and say touchdown.
Daniel has been a bit sick the past few days with a cold. And because he has needed to blow his nose so much, Jacob took notice. Now he takes baby wipes, napkins, or cloths and pretends to blow his nose.

Volleyball

We went up to Salt Lake to see Rachel play in Regionals. She did great! Rachel is so charismatic and knows how to pumps her team up! She got some nice outside kills and served great! Jacob liked watching the volleyball and all of the noise. I am glad they won! Good luck on your next game!

Fun filled day!

Daniel and I got a bit mischievous today. We decided to do a few pranks on my family. We first covered the toilet in cellophane, which I have never done before. We thought that we would get heather, but instead, Richie decided he needed to go. I don't know what was going through his head, and why he didn't stop. Maybe he was thinking ' what is this mystical force field surrounding the toilet’. We then taped the 'spray gun' nozzle down in the kitchen sink, which was extra fun. We got my Dad, Heather, and Richie. It gave for a good laugh, but now I will be looking over my shoulder just waiting for a strategic attack from Richie and heather.

Jacob is getting so big! He has learned how to knock and that someone is supposed to open the door. He gets really mad when the door doesn’t magically open regardless of which door he knocks on. Today he had fun knocking on Heather’s door. She was so patient opening and closing her door for over a half hour.

Jacob in the Snow

We had some snow fall here, so we thought it might be fun to see if Jacob likes snow or not. And it is official; he likes the snow as much as Daniel! I put him in almost every article of clothing that would fit on him, to make sure he stayed nice and warm. It reminded Daniel of the little brother Randy in the movie "A Christmas Story" When his mom bundled him up for the snow. (I can't put my arms down!) It was really funny! He didn't like it at all, so he was only out in the snow for a minute. He was such a trooper with getting all the cloths on.... and then off. But it was worth it to see his reaction.

Dinosaur Museum

We went to the BYU Dinosaur museum today. Daniel and I let Jacob run around and look at all the fossils. He had a lot of fun. He would point and try to read the posters and signs out loud in baby talk. It was so cute! Jacob was scared of the large alligator skull and didn't want to get near it. He would stand from a distance and point, then in his own little language say, " that is scary, I am not getting any closer". We found out that if we hid his toys in the skulls, he would run around trying to find the toy. We then went to the BYU creamery and got a bit of ice cream. Besides the nasty weather it was a very fun family outing.

This was the as close as Jacob would get to the alligator without Daniel holding him.
