Fun times in May!

We went over to my parents house today. Jacob and Derek love going over there. Heather played with Jacob until my parents got home from work.... then Grandpa got Jacob. Jake loves reading animal books with him and looking through the biology books. After reading and singing about elephants, Jake and Grandpa went outside and found a snake to play with.
Jacob was so fascinated by the little snake! He loved holding it. My dad had to keep reminding him to be soft and not hold the snake too tightly.
Here is Great Grandma Glassford holding little Derek!

This week was the first time my grandparents got to see Derek.
Jacob loves playing with Heather, he regularly asks if she can come over to play. Here he is playing with the train at my parents house, super tender.

Derek getting passed around, he is such a cutie everyone wanted to give him a squeeze!
Kate met my sister-in-law's newest addition, Chloe!
Kate was very patient with Chloe, and let her play on her. They are going to be great doggy friends.

Here is Hailey and Derek! Two super cute babies!

  1. Very cool shots of Jacob with the snake. Jacob and I were on the west side of the house looking at Pinus nigra (black pine). He felt the prickly pine needles and just as we were about to look at another plant we saw something moving in the weeds. After quickly identifying it as non toxic I picked it up and we began to observe the little snake up close. At first he was a little apprehensive but after he watch me hold it he quickly started to reach out for the snake. I love sharing the natural world with little kids. They are so curious.

I also enjoyed trying to make Derek smile. He is so fascinated with mouths. He tries to mimic my tongue and lip movements. He has a fun little personality.

    Talk to you all later,
