UVU Family Party!

We went to UVU this past Saturday for the Family Fun and Safety Fair. Grandpa and Grandma Astin had invited us to come eat green pancakes and see the fire trucks. Jake, who loves seeing fire trucks on the side of the road, was super excited. It is amazing at his age the proffesions they idolise. Fire Fighters, construction workers, policeman, farmer and train conductors are Jacob's top choices for when he gets older. His first used to be fisherman but after his first experience on a boat, he doen't seem to want to be a fisherman in the big ocean.
They did not disappoint on the fire trucks, there where over seven fire trucks! First things first though.... food! I was surprised that they where serving ice cream with the green pancakes, but it was super good... the kids thought it was awesome! If you notice, the binki is not in Derek's mouth! Yay! Okay, so he had to shovel the ice cream into his mouth, but the binki is clearly out of arms length. They had little stands with pamphlets and bowls of candy... but they also had a guy doing balloon animals and a stand doing face painting! Jake wanted to be a dragon. I think it turned out great, the only down side was that he had green eyebrows for three days. We then went over to all the fire trucks! They had the whole firefighter outfits they could try on. Jake thought they where so special, and loved getting to wear a real fire fighter hat. It was so much cooler then his Dollar Tree fire fighter hat I had gotten him.

Derek's favorite part of it was the shoes, I wasn't surprised. .

We had a ton of fun. Thank you for inviting us Noreen! Jake still talks about wanting to go back and play with the firetrucks!
